Should you get Arm Lifts?

Before the procedure Dr. Pillai will need to see you for a consultation. During the consultation Dr. Pillai will discuss why you want the surgery. You will also undergo a physical examination to make sure that you are healthy enough to endure and heal from Arm Lifts procedure. Dr. Pillia will also want to go over your medical history, take a few pictures for your records, and give you the opportunity to ask any questions or discuss concerns that you may have.

During the procedure you will be given general anesthesia as well intra venous in order to help keep you sedated during the Arm Lifts procedure. Dr. Pillia will begin by making an incision in the area where there is excess skin. The incision will generally run length-wise from underneath the armpit to around the elbow.

After the Arm Lifts procedure is over you will need to have assistance at home for a day. Your incision will be wrapped and you may need to wear elastic bands that will compress the area in order to decrease the swelling. Drainage tubes may also be inserted in order to drain blood and body fluid to decrease the swelling.

Arm lifts can be completed as an outpatient procedure. You will need to have a driver to take you home and stay with you for at least the first twenty-four hours. You cannot lift while your arms are healing from the arm lifts procedure.

As with any surgery there are always certain risks. Watch for signs such as swelling of the hands, fluid gathering around the incision line, loss of sensation in your arms or other extremities, or any signs of infection.
