Neck Lift

Do you need a Neck Lift?

Neck Lift is performed to remove the fat that lies around the jaw line. When you tighten up the skin on the neck and jaw area you will get a more defined looking neck. This is a common cosmetic procedure that can be performed right in your doctor’s office.

A Neck Lift doesn’t cover as much of an area as you would find in a face lift. It only covers the neck area up to the jaw line. If you lose weight you may find that the added skin has thinned out and will not tone around your neck. This is when you need to inquire about a Neck Lift.

Before you schedule your Neck Lift procedure

you need to have a consultation with Dr. Pillai. During this consultation you will learn everything you need to know about a Neck Lift including what you can expect when it is over. The first thing Dr. Pillai will go over is your medical background.

Sometimes a Neck Lift procedure requires only the added skin be removed. Over time, the skin may become loose and drape down into excess skin and this can cause your self esteem to drop. Other procedures that may be performed with a neck lift include a platysmaplasty.

After the Neck Lift procedure you may experience some numbness which is common. You may notice a change in the feeling of how your face moves. It may feel tight, tingle, or it may feel like it is burning or has sharp pains. You can expect to feel these for the first two or three weeks at least. Do expect some degree of bruising and swelling during the first few days after the neck lift. This is normal and you may need to find some home remedies that will work for you.
